Kenneth ("kengon") Gonzalez

Kenneth ("kengon") Gonzalez

Dojo Master, Instructor

kengon is a musician, singer, and composer who started his musical journey playing guitar at age 12, deep in the backwoods of Northeastern Pennsylvania with his Grandfather and uncle, learning classic Country Music.

Having developed an intense love for the instrument and music, he applied to the prestigious Guitar Institute of Technology ("GIT"), offered by Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California, and graduated with the Fall 1988 class.

He brings passion, enthusiasm, and musical skill to all of his engagements. As a working performer in the Pacific Northwest, he aims to co-create satisfying experiences with others by connecting deeply with people and celebrating the gift of music.

While fluent in multiple musical styles, his approach to playing, writing, and arranging transcends a single genre, reflecting a blend of cumulative life experience that is "uniquely kengon."

Foundation

Sing Your Solos [Beta]

This course is for beginning- and intermediate-level guitarists who want to solo and improvise but are intimidated by — or frustrated with — traditional theory-based approaches. Instead of memorizing scales and patterns, you'll use your own voice to bridge what you hear, sing, and play, cultivating a unique, personal connection to your instrument. No music degree required — just a guitar, curiosity, and a willingness to try something different.
