About Guitar Player Dojo
The "Road Less Traveled" for Guitarists
Welcome!
If you've found your way here, there's a good chance you care about guitar and growing as a player in a way that feels real. That matters to me.
What This "Dojo" Is About
My focus is on helping basic and intermediate guitar players develop something deeper than a collection of techniques or memorized ideas. There's no shortage of places to learn chords, scales, theory, and songs. But what I care about most is helping people develop their own connection to music.
You Already Have What You Need
A lot of guitarists get trapped on an endless hamster wheel, believing they just need more theory, one more technique, or one more flashy riff to finally "get there." That approach often leads to frustration and the feeling that real progress is always just out of reach.
People entertain "self-talk" about everything they lack: the right gear, enough talent, enough practice time, or youth. That list is infinite — and the more you entertain it, the more convinced you'll be that learning to play is just out of your reach.
Intentional Development
I believe every player is on a journey. There's no wrong place to start and no single right path. Intentional development is what's required.
What I want instead is to help you listen, hear music more clearly, and connect what you hear to what you play. That's where music becomes personal. That's where it starts to mean something.
What We're Going For
When you work with me, my goal is simple: eliminate any confusion about what to practice, what to focus on, and what matters most to your development as a musician and guitarist. Instead of doing everything at once, we carefully select the next piece of ground that's central to your growth.
If I do my job well, you won't just improve as a guitar player — you'll build a stronger relationship with music itself, one that brings challenge, excitement, satisfaction, and growth for years to come.
This is a lifelong journey. Let's improve and enjoy the ride.
